The cartoonist sighed and turned to his visitor, who was looking over his shoulder. "No choice," he replied wearily. "Nobody seems to want crime strips." "_I_ do," said the visitor. "You're not an editor, more's the pity." "I thought your strip was excellent. Why did they turn it down?" The cartoonist shrugged. "If I knew, I could change it. Maybe it's not realistic enough, maybe they don't like my drawing style, maybe it's too grim. Who knows?" "Well, I thought it was realistic," said the visitor.
