Astonishing was one of the "newbies" that came out in the early 40's. It and Future lasted the longest. Paper shortages during the war finally did them in. Future made a come back in the late 40's. As a group they were dedicated to a "new" science fiction. Bester, Wolheim, Korbluth, Pohl, Asimov and Lowndes largely got their start there. Asimov, of course, went on to huge successes. Bester is best known for "The Demolished Man" and "The Stars My Destination
